How to change privacy settings on Xbox account when Xbox.com sign in doesn’t work.

I don’t have an Xbox but I still have an account to play Minecraft on Windows 10. I can’t play cross platform with friends because every time I try to change privacy settings I’m brought to Xbox support. Every time.

I believe the problem is that I have to sign in to Xbox.com first to change these settings but the problem is the Sign in button doesn’t even work on the website, on desktop or mobile. How do I fix this? All I want to do is change my privacy settings on
my microsoft account so I can play cross platform between my Pc and my Xbox friends.

Do you have the Xbox Console Companion App on your PC? If not, you can get it from the Microsoft Store.

If so, go to your profile, select more, select privacy and that should take you to privacy and online safety. I just did it and verified that it works for me.

I'm telling you now, it's not because I can't find the privacy settings, but literally anytime I even click on it, it instantly brings me to Xbox support which I'm 99% sure it's not supposed to do.

Have you gone to Xbox.com and look over the account's privacy settings?

Since you don't have an Xbox, you may change privacy settings on Xbox.com for your Xbox account. Follow this link to see instructions on how to access your privacy settings online:

Let us know if you can change those settings or if everything is set to allowed.

I was able to get it working. in xbox.com, under privacy and online safety, change "Share stuff people make", to "Everyone". That should do it.

Top job buddy @manygadgetguy, worked a treat! This is a little tricky to find if you're not familiar with XBox.com or the settings, so as of August 2017:

Sign into XBox.com using the parent account that controls family settings > Goto My Account > Family > Click the account you want to allow access for > More Options > Apps, Games and Media > XBox Privacy Settings > Click the account you want to allow access
for > Under the privacy tab goto 'Share stuff people make (Xbox 360: Member Content)' > Click everyone > Scroll to bottom of screen and hit SAVE

You will then need to sign out of the account on XBox One and then sign back in again and it should now work!
