how to change Minecraft Windows10 edition to Minecraft Java edition on my laptop

Hi there GourishankarG welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Unfortunately, the Java edition and Bedrock edition count as different "versions" of the game we should pay for, I have bought both for certain reasons, also if you own the Xbox version that doesn't mean that the PlayStation version would be available for free. So, if you wish to download and play the Java edition you would need to buy it.

Minecraft Launcher is the same thing as Minecraft Java! I have issue with Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (Not JAVA EDITION). Do you understand this?
When i installed Minecraft: Bedrock Edition on my laptop from Microsoft Store it has the latest version but when i installed Minecraft: Bedrock Edition at another device (PC) from Microsoft store it stuck on 1.17.10 version and don't updating to 1.17.41 version. This is Microsoft Store's problem, it doesn't updating my Minecraft to the last version on my PC.

P.S PC and laptop has Windows 10.

Windows 10 minecraft and java edition are both two different types of Editions unfortunately you would have to buy the java edition on the minecraft website.

I bought the Windows 10 version of Minecraft by mistake, but the one I wanted was the java edition.

I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?

The purchase shows as 'completed' under order history. I dont have an xbox, this is on my son's laptop. I purchased the deluxe edition and it said it was available for PC. I have just installed the minecraft launcher, minecraft and minecraft java separately but there are none of features of the deluxe edition.
