How to change Microsoft account associated with gamertag

Hi,

Is it possible to change the Microsoft account associated with my gamertag?

Unfortunately my primary Microsoft account ended up with an auto generated gamertag which I want to move/delete, and move my gamertag over from a Microsoft account I do not use for anything else apart from hosting that gamertag.

I have spoken to support and they cannot help me, and just point me in the direction of doing it on a Xbox 360 (really?) which I do not have. Is it really the case that this far after release, we cannot perform this function on the xbox one?

Adding/Changing an email to an existing Gamertag

Gamertags are tied to a Microsoft account, so changing the email address associated with the Microsoft account will also change the email address associated with that gamertag. There's a guide on

Hi there, unfortunately that is correct, the only way to change it is through the 360 console. I do believe it will eventually become an option on the Xbox One, but people seem to scream louder about other features first so naturally they would go with the
majority.

I would suggest seeing if it's been made as a suggestion at the following link and leaving your support for it as well, if not create the feedback yourself:

Technically transfers cannot be do but you can change the email address associated with a microsoft account.

In order to associate the gamertag with another account you will need to create a whole account with an email address and then do the following to associate the gamertag to that account. How
