How to change locale on Xbox 360

I bought my xbox 360 in the United states a while ago

and ive been trying to change my locale from United states to South africa because that is where i am based but

for some reason it is not allowing me to access this particular setting?

issue is it prevents me from completing my billing information to make purchases.

so i was wondering if i am doing anything wrong

or if there is any other way to change my locale

or if xbox is just “special” like that

and i cant change it ??

Any help would be much appreciated thank you

got xbox 360 local problem.

got xbox 360 local problem.

1. i changed xbox 360 local to taiwan for a test. and i can't change back US

2. After changing xbox 360 local. i Can't be on Xbox live gold. even it did not expired.

Q.

1. i hope to change to my xbox360 local to us.

2. i hope to use xbox live.

3. If it can't be back to us. how i can use xbox live ... i have xbox live 3month coupon.

if it apply to my xbox live with my xbox live 3month coupon.. it will be ok or still not be available to xbox live gold.

becuz now i lost the right. with xbox live gold.

Hello C4,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. That setting is usually greyed out if your console is not connected to the internet. Have you tested your network?

Conditions that can prevent you from
changing your country/region

If you’re prevented from changing the country/region for your Xbox, it may be for one of the reasons below:

You changed country/regions within the last three months.

Your account is currently suspended (for example, the credit card on one of your subscriptions has expired).

You are a minor (as defined by applicable law) in your current country/region and will not be a minor in the region you’re moving to.

You are not a minor (as defined by applicable law) in your current country/region but will be considered a minor in the country/region you’re moving to.

You have a balance due on your Xbox subscription.

There is no way to change an Xbox 360 region. It's hard wired
