    Hello:

    Need help with child account. My xbox one has current gametag that was used by my son. I created a child account and would like to move that gamertag to his account.

    For example my gamertag "gtag1" under *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** to be transfered to *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***.

    The reason for doing this is to control how much time is spent on the xbox.

    Issue with Child - Adult conversion

    Here is a link on how to promote your account from child to adult.

    support.xbox.com/.../promote-child-account

    However, if the birthday that was entered on your account has not reached the age of 18 you will not be able to promote the account. Also, be aware that once entered there is no way to change the birthday on a gamertag.

    Can't change Gamertag due to Xbox privacy and safety settings.

    Hi,

    I'd like to change my gamertag on Xbox Live. I'm 16, my dad has a Microsoft account, but it isn't linked to mine as a parent account. When I try to change my gamertag on account.xbox.com, I get an error "Child trying to access settings" error with a tutorial
    on how to make an exception. Do I have to get my account linked to my Dad's before I can do this? Please let me know how to do this.

    Also, I've read you have to pay in order to change your gamertag. I have credit on my Microsoft account, so can I pay with that?

    Hi there,

    if you are talking about just the Gamertag (so the name itself) then the procedure would be to change the GT on 'your' account to something else and then change the GT on the child account to that one.

    Depending on the situation both changes could be paid changes.

    If you are talking about the actual Xbox Live Account itself, so the save games, gamerscore, subscriptions, games owned etc. Then I'm afraid that won't be possible. These items can't be transferred from one Xbox Live Account to another.

    You have 02 ways to make this change,
    01º) You can change the current Gamertag linked to your personal email by another, thus releasing that gamertag to your child.

    02º) You can change the email linked to the Gamertag that you want to "preserve", changing the current email to one that belongs to your child.

    Ok, now I understand. Follow the steps located at the link I'm posting for how to change the email address associated with the gamertag. The easiest option to do this will be on the 360. Once done, you will have freed up the email address that is currently
    on it so you can create your own gamertag.

    However, be aware that you cannot change the age of the gamertag once it's been set. This means that if the tag is currently adult it cannot be changed to a child account.

    If you're wanting to use a custom gamerpic, he would need an adult account. There is currently no way to use a custom gamerpic on child accounts.

    Otherwise, you can change his gamertag to one of the ones Xbox makes available.
