How to change a gamertag when the country/region field is grayed out during payment?

Hey all,

Hope you're doing great!

I'm trying to change my Gamertag, so it doesn't have the numbers appended to it (something that wasn't well explained when I first changed it for free). I have the name in mind and the interface is telling me it's available and it will be shown without the numbers, however, I'm not able to proceed with the payment because the country/region is grayed out and stuck on "United States". My country is Serbia.

I've tried changing my country in the lower left corner, but that doesn't help, as it won't even open my profile ("something went wrong" error). After several page refreshes, I can access my profile, but it reverts the region to the US.

Does this mean I'm unable to change my Gamertag if my country isn't supported? Also, why wouldn't it be supported when Xbox sub and all other payments are?

You will have to wait there is one body that is holding it uo and they are playing games

Cma still says the deal can still fall even though they already been warned by their own courts not to act in bad faith

.basically if the deal goes thru 7 new cloud providers will offer xbox and Activision games in Europe

I’m afraid to say, but at the moment, Serbia is not a supported country for the Xbox Live network. It is not possible to pay to change your gamertag for this reason.

At the moment, only PC Game Pass is compatible with Serbia. But Xbox consoles or Game Pass Ultimate / Console are not available in your country.

I followed the instructions but in the 'Country or region' section I'm already in the Philippines. I just added my city and postal code.

Tried changing my gamertag again but it's still on USA and it's still grayed out.

Trying to purchase item from Microsoft store. I am unable to change a grayed out country region (from Aruba) when entering a credit card. I have always lived in the USA, I have tried several credit cards, always grayed out.

Your advice was priceless, when I looked at my Microsoft profile, it had Aruba as the country. I changed it to US and it worked.
