    I apparently made a child account by accident is there a way to change it to an adult account?

    I want to change my account from a child account to an adult account but I forgot my adult account completely. How do I change my account from child to buy games and actually use it if I forgot my adult account?

    How to change a child account to an adult account?

    There is no way to manually promote a child account to an adult account. The only way it will change is when the age reached 18+. The birthdate on an xbox account is permanent and while the date can be changed on your MS account at account.microsoft.com
    it does not carry over to Xbox.

    The only work around would be to start a new account.

    I can't remember 100% but I am sure whoever set up the child account can change it. Like if you made an adult account on the xbox before making the child account that adult account can change wether the child account is a child account or and adult one.
    I will just test this out myself now and post how it went

    You can change a child account to an adult account, but you can't change an adult account to a child account. In order to manage them, you would have to create new child accounts for them.
