HOW TO CANCEL AUTO RENEWAL!?!?! AND NOT MY WHOLE GOLD SUB!!??!?! Really, MS???

I've tried following the steps on your 'support' site but it's either outdated or purposefully wrong. NICE.

Im just trying to cancel the scam that is auto renewal of my xbox live gold subscription that I NEVER OPTED FOR OR CHOSE IN THE FIRST PLACE. WITHOUT CANCELLING MY WHOLE SUB

How do I REALLY stop it? Following those steps don't work. When you go to your account sub settings, theres only an option to cancel under auto renew... and it BRINGS YOU TO A SCREEN THAT ONLY ALLOWS YOU TO CANCEL YOUR WHOLE GOLD SUB, AS IN FROM THIS MOMENT.
NOT NOT NOT auto renew, JUST CANCEL. Though your site says that's where i go to cancel auto renew..

And yes, I've tried google, and every forum/reddit/anything don't know how to do it, or give the WRONG info.. Or maybe it's jsut different in Canada? either way.. WOW!

Gold Membership Trial Question

You will still have to turn off auto-renewal after you start a trial. Anytime you start a trial or subscription from Xbox, it will turn on auto-renewal even if you have turned it off before. You can find out how to turn off auto-renewal here -

If it's not letting you cancel it via the website, you'll need to contact support and they will turn it off for you. 1-800-4my-xbox

Anytime you purchase gold from Xbox it does warn you that auto-renewal will be turned on, so you do agree to it when you complete the purchase.

 

To add to what Smwutches said, it won't cancel your Gold if you turn off auto-renew. Your Gold will always stay till it expires and to my knowledge there isn't a way to ever remove it once applied.
