    How to avoid PvP

I think this has been addressed tangentially, but I can't get a clear answer on it...How does one avoid the PvP interactions in TESO? I think a Bethesda post said to avoid them geographically...that if you stay away from the Cyrodiil area (center) of Tamriel,
you can avoid the unwanted attacks by 12-year-old talking about your mother. I'd be happy doing PvE quests with a guild or do solitary quests and exploring.

    :)

  2. Can't catch me!

Congratulations, through exploiting a glitch in the game, you managed to avoid an invader. You are truly a skilled and brilliant PVPer.

1.06 Community Patch - Have your say!

Back-stabbing is often a lag issue in PvP, but it's the same kind of lag issue you find in every other multiplayer game out there. Ever been killed in BF3, Halo or even COD right after taking cover behind a wall? It's the same kind of lag. The best thing
you can do is to learn how to counter it, and there are methods!

There's another thread somewhere on this forum that talks about backstabbing in PvP and I left a link on there with a video to show you how to perform successful backstabs. By watching it you can also see how to avoid them to.

    Here's the link again: [View:]

    How to avoid PvP

You won't have to worry about "P vs P".

This game is designed to be like "Fable III" where you can walk around holding hands with your friends.

If you want to play P vs P you'll have to go to a special area and then join a P vs P game.

    It's a shame really.

There are no real penalties for death and no real rewards for victory.

Now it would be annoying if you could get mugged anywhere in the game by players but it also adds an element of risk and reward.

You won't have to worry about either on TESO from what I've heard so far.

Not going to be like WoW PvP servers where you are always flagged or like GTA Online public free roam. Adding PvP to Elder Scrolls at all is a big step. I'm interested to see how it works out with so many players all on one megaserver.

Thanks, guys, you've answered my question! Positive gamer karma to ya! I'm looking to the multiplayer questing, just not dealing with children! It should be a great game! Thanks again!

Why do all pvpers have to be children?I love open pvp games,i ambush and kill others and take their inventories/gear drops if it's in the game, but i'm no child, engaging in something that is built into the gameplay and what the game encourages you to do for
    reward is not childish behaviour.

Anyway, won't have to worry about that in TES,which i think is a pity,i echo what azrael said.

    How to avoid PvP

I originally played PvP servers in WoW but eventually found I preferred PVE to PvP and transferred all my characters to a PVE server. Not all PvPers are 12 year olds but a lot of them are. I just got sick of the full guilds of them doing nothing but making
    a nuisance of themselves.

Most PvPers are adults, but what I don't want is the trash talking and all that. I wanna explore and do the dungeons, but not get punked by people who play a lot more than me. Y'all did, however, answer my question better than Bethesda did, thanks!

I personally like the fact that people wont be able to just go around just to cause trouble and annoy others. There's been games I've stopped playing because of that.

I agree, Springer, same here...but I'm also glad that games are big enough now to have both. Glad games don't have single-player mode only like in early days. I just wanna avoid the anti-social stuff...1000+ hours of Skyrim and I still play it, but if
I had to deal with WoW-style PvP, I probably wouldn't buy it...

I remember the servers in "Freelancer" which some of you may remember was a Space Game that allowed you to be a Trader / Fighter Pilot / Bounty Hunter / Pirate over numerous systems.

Now in the established colonised systems anyone trying to cause trouble would simply be killed by the AI forces there.

As you got further away from these established colonies and especially to the outskirts of space in far off systems that's where people could jump you if you weren't careful.

But you weren't going to randomly spawn there. You knew what you were getting into if you went out there and there was usually a high reward for the high risk you took.

A wealthy trader like myself was also able to not just hire real player escorts but could even put bounties on the heads of pirate players who became too much of a nuisance.

This is it's own game and nobody wants to have their fun ruined. But it would be nice if there was some element of risk and reward rather than having to "phase" into a Multiplayer PVP area.

It's a bit meaningless if the game simply rewards you for showing up.

    How to avoid PvP

Some of the best pvp i ever had(and this will make most laugh)was in runescape!Yes,that silly looking ultimately boring repetitive browser game...but the pvp was risky and exciting(if you had the sack to go up there with good gear on and not be one of those
3 item pansies)Eves wasn't bad either but the combat was a bit dull for my tastes...i always wanted to play freelancer, something else always got in the way though =/

Star citizen will have to do for me now when it gets released.

Great point, Azreal, although I've never played Freelancer. I do note that Bethesda says that the loot and potential reward of PvP play makes it worth the risk, as y'all have said. I guess this is the golden age of gaming, if this is all I'm worrying about.
I got to play TESO at GameStopCon this year for a few minutes, it seems awesome and beautiful.

Just found this gem in the Ban forum:

"Hi, my son is 10 yrs old & his gamer tag is XX XX . He was playing GTA5 online & went into a modded lobby & was given lots of money & after that he claims he can't play it online anymore. Please give him another chance. I don't think he fully understood
    the severity of it. Thanks!"

Not ESO I know but it just shows how ignorant parents destroy the online community by buying mature games for their kids. How to avoid PvP :(
