How to allow multiplayer for my child on a computer in minecraft.

Hi there Tiarnach, my name is Gerardo, and I'm an Xbox player. I'll be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

To enable multiplayer mode in Minecraft for your child, please follow the procedure below:

    1. From your adult Microsoft account, you should go to the following link and click on "Create a family group" if you don't have one already:

    https://account.microsoft.com/family/

    * It's important to note that this adult account must be the Family Organizer once created.

    2. After clicking that button, a window will appear where you need to enter the email address or phone number associated with the child's account to add them to the family. At this step, you should set the child's account role as "Member".

    3. Log in to the child's email and accept the family invitation.

    4. From your adult account (it's important that it's from this account), you should go to the following privacy settings link:

    https://account.xbox.com/settings

Select the child's profile at the top to ensure that you're modifying the settings for that profile, not yours.

    5. You should set the following options to "Allow" and save the changes:

    * You can play with people who are not part of Xbox Live.
    * You can create and join clubs.
    * You can join multiplayer games.
    * You can add friends.

It's important to do this with all these options and not just "You can join multiplayer games" since Minecraft requires specifically these four options to be enabled for online play.

I hope this helps and if you have further questions please let me know.

    Kind regards,
    Gerardo.

Allowing my child to play multiplayer on Minecraft Java edition on his computer.

Hi there! My name is Darhyl and I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your son's Xbox privacy setting issue. No worries, let me help you sort this out.

Based on the description you provided, it means the system has detected that the multiplayer feature on your son's account is still disabled. A child account can't manage the privacy settings on its own, you need an adult Microsoft account to manage the privacy settings for your son.

A child account is registered on the birthdate 21 years old and below upon the account's first creation while an adult account is registered on the birthdate 22 years old and older.

Note: Ensure that your adult account is the "Organizer" and your son's account is the "Family Member" to make this work.

I understand that you have already made changes on your son's account settings. Kindly try to manage your son's account privacy settings this way just in case this would work according to the official Xbox website: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help...ttings by selecting View details & customize.

"Sign in to your adult Microsoft account at Xbox.com.

Select your Gamertag, and then select the More actions button (…).

Select Xbox settings, and then select Privacy & Online Safety.

Note: Because you’re accessing sensitive info, you may have to enter your password or PIN.

Select the gamertag for the child account that you want to manage.

Select either the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety tab or the Privacy tab.

Review the current settings and update all of the options as "Allow" and "Everyone", and then select Submit to save the changes.

Note: You must select Submit at the bottom of the page before leaving or switching to another tab. If you don't submit the changes before you move to the other tab, your changes won't be saved."

Then check if your son will be able to play Multiplayer on Minecraft Java Edition.

Thank you for your kindness and understanding! Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

    Best Regards,
    Darhyl

Can't validate Friend requests in XBox app from child account

    Hello Pascal Paulis,

    You're welcome!

I was wondering if that prompt will show if you have allowed your child to send a request. Have you tried selecting the request approval button? Then, checked your email regarding the request?

We'll check this with the Internal Support Team to see if this this request can found be elsewhere.
