How to add friends from XBox 360 to XBox One?

My friend has an XBox One, I have an XBox 360. We know there was a time when One and 360 users could add eachother as friends. XBox 360 requests are not handled properly by XBox One, but you used to be able to go to xboxlive.com to accept XBox 360 friend requests, and would then appear in 360 friend lists. However, the web page has changed and the friends page which would show the requests, no longer seems to be available.

Is it still possible to add friends cross-platform between XBox 360 and XBox One?

Hi, I'm Luis a Xbox user just like you. Thanks for reaching out us here. You should be still be able to do it through the Xbox App.

Sign in to the Xbox app, and then select the Social tab.
Enter the gamertag in the search box, and then press Enter. Be sure to pay close attention to the gamertag's spelling and spacing.
Select the profile that you want to add

And if you're not one Xbox One is the friend you are trying to add on Xbox One?

Friend requests work a bit different on Xbox One, when you add someone they're added to your friends automatically, but for you to be on their friends list they also need to add you, otherwise you'll just be a follower of theirs.

I've not tried adding someone on the One who is just on 360, and I don't know that anyone from the 360 has tried to add me on the One, but I don't know if it'd work crossing over between the systems.

Your 360 friends list is automatically one the One, but if you add someone on the One to have them on your 360 friends list you also need to add them from the 360.

Can't find any other useful info on the internet either about friend request problems, sorry.

Did you add her from the One or was it from the 360/Xbox.com? I have one friend who I added on my Xbox One who does not show up on my friends list on the 360 or on Xbox.com. I'd bet that is the issue - try adding her from the Xbox website or a 360 console.

On the Xbox One, any friend requests will be followers if requested from a 360. They will show up as a follower until you add them back.

The 360 and Xbox One friend system seems to work in different ways. Try asking your friend to go onto his 360 (if he still has one) and accepting your request from there, or on the PC.

Az, the only way that friends show up on your 360 list, as well as your Xbox One list, is if they add you from either the forums, or whilst using their 360. I have the same problem. When looking at my FL from the forum, it shows that I'm missing about
10 friends that show up when I'm using the xbox one.
