how to activate xbox live (not gold one)

Hello,

I know that xbox live is free and I thought that a simple microsoft account was able to have xbox live enabled.

I connected and logged in my console with my account, then I launched a game ('fortnite' in this case).

I initially asked me if i want to buy a gold subscription or not, I asked "no" and it proceeded until the game launch button, but then it says me that my account is not enabled to access xbox live (any mention to gold subscription...).

Do you know what I have to do?

i have purchased a XBOX 360 LIVE VISION with ONE FREE month of LIVE GOLd.

HOw i get this MOnth free? There is a code or not?

Hi

I believe Fortnight is an online only game and this may be why you are receiving this message. Can you please try another game you own that is not an online only or try downloading a game demo from the store on the console to see if you still get the same
error message?

By having an account, you do have access to Live, but not all aspects of Live. Gold is required to play online and Fortnite being an online only game would require a gold subscription.

All Xbox One Games with Gold require an active Gold Subscription in order to play them. Xbox 360 ones do not.

Scroll to the bottom where it says "Games with Gold Free Games Offer" and it says exactly how the free games with gold works on Xbox One.

Have you checked to see if your Xbox Live is active? On the Xbox One, you need an active Xbox Live subscription to play Xbox One games with gold.

With Xbox 360 titles you will own the games in perpetuity regardless of if your Xbox Live Gold subscription is active or not.

With Xbox One titles you will be able to play the game as long as your Xbox Live Gold subscription is active.

Warzone is listed as one of the free to play games, however, after the last update the game no longer launches without an active Xbox Live Gold subscription. I don't know the reason for this as no official statement have been put out, but that's just how it's been.

The only way to fix the Goldflake error is by having an active Live Gold subscription.
