    How silent is the XB1 ment to be?


    The first X1 i had made a slight noise i thought it was normal.. after i swapped it for a new X1 the comparison was huge .. i don't hear a thing honestly. My room can be silent and i still won't hear it UNLESS i was installing something.

    If everything else is off I can hear a slight noise from the power brick (in instant on mode).. but with the tv on I can't hear the Xbox One at all even if I'm playing on it and I'm about 1-2 meters away from it so in my experience its dead quiet! How silent is the XB1 ment to be? :)

    OP, don't worry it's normal. Mine does the same thing and I've read others saying the same thing.

    You can hear it from a WHOLE FOOT away? Definitely take it back. Didn't you know that anything audible from more than six inches away is a potential thermonuclear device?

    Thanks for the mixed feedback.. dead quiet not quiet still left in the same situation. If I want to return the console I have to ring the shop helpline 1st anyway to get a Ref number to take to shop with me. If they laugh at my fan experience ill just leave
    it.

    I wasn't that bothered at 1st just thought I can hear the fan going, but after reports its ment to be dead silent (even popped into game today and had a good listen of the demo XB1.. which didn't make a peep) has got me alittle concerned. I don't want a
    console that will get louder and louder or even break in a few months.

    Ill ask and just see what the shop say's.

    Mine is super silent, i can only hear it if i put my ears on it. I would go back to the retailer and switch it out or send it back to microsoft.

    How silent is the XB1 ment to be?

    If the most you can hear is a faint whirring noise when up close I wouldn't worry about it. Fans are quiet, but not so quiet they generate zero noise whatsoever.

    Mine makes a little noise, but nothing I am concerned about. My PC is louder.
