How scratched can an Xbox one disk get before it is unplayable?

If X1 game discs and optical drives are as robust as ps3's, then. IMO: It would take more than a few scratches to make it unplayable.

I buy my games used and scratches are not a concern, except when neg price. I use a spritz of of HDTV cleaner and a micro fiber cloth to clean them and have yet to have any fail. But haven't yet bought a X1 game that was scratched.

xbox 1 bluray discs are suppose to be more durable than xbox 360 dvd discs. your disc lazer on xbox 1 is capable of scratching your disc especially if you move your console when the disc is inside. the same for xbox 360. if lint free clothes dont work try
it with anti static spray which you can also use on glasses and phone screens. failing that, go digital. disc version games fo come with a limited warranty depending on the game a 30 day or 60 day sometimes 90. if the console cant read it you can take the
fame disc back to claim another disc if its still in its warranty.

Xbox One games are installed to the hard drive from the disc. Once it installs fine, it only has to read the disc to identify that you own it. So you won't have to worry about getting to some point in the game and not able to progress further.

Blue ray disks are tougher than dvd's and less prone to scratching but still can get scratched under extreme conditions. Ebgames asked if I wanted scratch protection for my Xbox One games I laughed and said no thankyou.

I've had that problem before, it would be unreadable, and some times it would read. The disk was perfectly fine no scratches.

After I sent my old Xbox in for a repair it made it twice as good. I now have a Xbox slim with the 250GB HDD, and I install all my games to my HDD, that way if the disk ever gets scratched as long as the middle part of the disk is not destroyed you can play
the game no matter what. It tends to work a little better since a random scratch can make it unreadable on any part.
