    How safe is a "hard reset" after doing it hundreds of times?


    I do this a lot as its one of the most suggested actions when experiencing a problem but at what point is it no longer a good idea?

    id imagine if I constantly performed hard resets on my iPhone or my Windows tablet...eventually it would have negative consequences. Wouldn't the same apply here?

    If not...why not?

    Problem with the Update on Xbox One

    This also worked for me. After three hard resets but without bringing the power cord out. Really annoyed though, got kicked out of an overwatch comp game for this ****.

    Hold down the XBOX button on the front of the console for 10 seconds and it will hard reset. Much safer than unplugging the system. But yeah the hard reset worked for me. TWITCH was the only thing not working.

    Another method is

    • Go to the Home screen.
    • Press the Menu button on the controller.
    • Select Settings.
    • Note You can say “Xbox, go to settings” from any screen, but you’ll need a controller once you’re on the
      Settings screen.
    • Go to Power & startup.
    • Select Turn Xbox Off.
    • Select Yes. The console powers down.
    • Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the
      Xbox button on your controller.

    How do you reset the safe area?

    Start > Options > Safe area. I don't have it in front of me, but I know it is in the options menu somewhere..I seen it.
