How "Quite" Is The Xbox One X Supposed To Be?

How "quite" is the Xbox One X supposed to be? I have mine on it's stand placed on my desk, and I can hear the fans running. I can also faintly hear a low pitched humming noise. I just don't know if it's normal or not to be hearing this b/c I'm hearing people
say that their Xbox One X is silent but I like I said, I don't know. Can anyone provide their experience with their Xbox One X and if your's is quiet or not please?

High Packet Loss

My Xbox one X keeps bringing up the error message High Packet Loss. What does that mean? How is that supposed to be fixed?

 

Xbox one x heat

is the Xbox one x back vent supposed to be running so hot ? The sides are fairly cool, but the top is warm, while the back gets quite heated from blowing out hot air. My concern is if it’s suposed to be as hot as it is.

 

Mine is clear across the room and I hear nothing. I've never gotten up close to it while it's running though.

 

My Xbox One X (Scorpio Edition) is less than 3 feet away from me, and I can barely hear it, especially when running games. If the room is very quiet, I can kinda hear the faint hum of the fan. I daresay it's far quieter than my Xbox One S.

I'm pretty impressed so far by how dead silent it is.

 

Mine is like 6 feet from where I sit but mine is dead silent. The only thing I do hear (now) is the external harddrive. Compare that to the PS4 pro which is at the same distance. That one makes an incredible noise when it gets under load.

 

My tinnitus is louder than my One X.

 

Mine is pretty much silent, for the first day or so it did emit a bit of a hum. What actually fixed it was lightly tapping on the top! Also this is essentially a PC, it takes about 150 hours before the thermal paste is optimal.

 

mines making a type of "grinding" noise which i think is the ball bareings, its a bit loud so its not super quiet like most people are saying theres is, only had it for a couple of days so probably returning mine

 

Mine does make a noise. Periodically, the fans ramp up to full pelt for a few seconds and it is completely irritating and takes you out of the game experience. I keep hearing from many people that theirs is completely silent, which is backed up by the feedback
from all of the youtubers that received freebies early. Therefore, mine is going through an advanced exchange with Microsoft.

The console is in clear space with loads of room around it. It sits about 10 feet from me. When the fans 'blast', it sounds like extremely high winds. Very disappointing.

 

Grinding is bad. Exchange it if you can.
