How Much is Tax When Gifting a Video Game

I am planning to gift my brother Call of Duty: Cold War (Cross Platform Edition) for Christmas, I am planning to buy $65 in Xbox Gift Cards ($50 card and a $15 card), and redeem a $5 or $10 Xbox Gift Card using my Microsoft Rewards balance, but I need
to know how much is the tax for Cold War, and is there a change in tax or money if I gift someone a game? I am going to use the Xbox Store on the Chrome browser and gift it through that process to give it to him. Any idea about the tax or money?

    :)

The tax is entirely dependent on your State/Countries Sales Tax and gifts have no added taxes aside from your usual sales tax. You can google your locations sales tax and calculate for yourself

    here
or go in like you're purchasing the game on your system and see how much it'll cost since it shows how much it'll cost with taxes.

I need help with a gift card I used

    Hello!

How much in VBucks did you purchase? If the amount exceeded the gift card (don't forget sales tax), it would have charged the credit card after the gift card amount was used up.

To unlock the region lock of games when we are gifting to people

Some countries place a tax on gifts above a certain value send from another country.

Laws prohibit certain aspects of gifting.

In my country you have to pay a certain amount for a gift that has a value of minimum of R500. The value of the gift will determine how much tax will be payed.

In the end it has all to do with taxation on products brought into the country. Most companies abide by the laws of the country that they are not headqaurtered in, but trading in.

    First time per ordering.

It depends on how much the game is and how much tax is in your area. The extra $5 may not be enough to cover the tax.

Why MS Points made more sense than Local Currency! What do you think?
and you can see how much the same thing costs in other regions
Seeing what things cost in other regions doesn't make any sense to me. Having trouble understanding how that would be more useful than confusing.

You dont get charged taxes when purchasing a points/gift card.
It's always been my experience that when you purchase points online, sales tax would apply. But if the stores somehow weren't charging tax for the points cards, then I don't imagine they would charge tax for their currency equivalents. And I've heard of
stores charging tax for Gift Visa cards and other such things. Maybe I heard wrong. Anyways, it's still not up to Xbox. They don't get any benefit out of whatever taxes anybody pays for anything. Taxes don't go to companies, and companies don't control
    taxes.
