How much did MS pay for TR?

I have to wonder how timed helps MS. I understand the money helps CD. But how does it help MS? I actually had someone tell me they would now have to buy an Xbox One because they love Tomb Raider and of course they could play the other exclusives so not
so bad. Now they are saying they can just wait since there are plenty of other games. I can see that being the mentality with a good number of people. It really feels like timed exclusives are becoming less and less important. The money given to the devs
is very important though so there is still that. Great deal for CD and should help Tomb Raider a lot. I could see this being a case of Xbox One gets it first. Then after the exclusivity ends other consoles/pc get a more polished version with all the paid
dlc free. I can already see the posts thanking Xbox users for testing the product and making it good for those other fans.

There are a bunch of PC games coming on consoles (Goat simulator,Day Z,Smite,ect.....)

And i guess those games will be more polished,but a lower price,i don't think so......Minecraft,Strike suit zero,Outlast are good example.....

 

Microsoft have always done a FIFA bundle as far as I remember. They had a FIFA bundle when the Xbox One was launched as well.

I've said it time and time again but I don't and probably never will understand why people argue over games and consoles, I just don't understand the mentality of these people. It honestly seems that some take offence because someone has picked one console
why they chose something else, to me this is as stupid as me going to buy a pair of Addidas trainers today and arguing with my best mate because he bought a pair of Nike.

This deal has to be one of the most stupid deals ever. Tomb Raider is not a system seller. Also looking at sales, the xbox community has made up the least of sales for the previous Tomb Raider. So why do they do this deal when it shows that Tomb Raider
is not that popular with the xbox community. Why did microsoft bother wasting money on this when they could have invested it in a new ip with there first party studios and the game would have remained exclusive. Why even bother as well buy having it as a timed
exclusive. Makes absolutely no sense.

There also helping out sony who have Uncharted releasing during holidays 2015, so by not having this game on the ps4 when Uncharted releases this will probably lead to more sales for Uncharted on the ps4.

 

Microsoft just have money to burn sony can't afford to waste money

 

Well it seems that the money Sony is investing in third party studios is getting the games to stay exclusive, whereas the money microsoft is investing in third party studios, the games are usually ending up not staying exclusive. So I think sonys solution
seems better. So it seems how much money each company has is irrelevant. Also the fact that ps4 has alot more sales, these business deals are just going to get more expensive for microsoft.

 

I'm not really going to argue over something so trivial, so I'll just say this: "Exclusivity fosters competition. Competition breeds innovation."

 

1. WOW, you MS fans need to get your bashing together, half of you say Sony is too poor to afford to do something like this, then the other half said Sony did it with Bloodbourne and the order, you guys should message each other and get it right.

2. Timed exclusive makes even less sense, as the guy said above, that just gives more sales to uncharted, which is the better game. (assuming its not delayed(which it probably will be)) Then when it comes to ps4, it will probably be during the 2016 gaming
drought march, april, may etc... If you're going to spend the money spend the money!!! get COD/destiny exclusive, those are the Xbox games!! 3rd person platformers are the PS games.

 

It will obviuosly increase sales because people will think "oh xbox gets more big exclusives, i'll get that"

Whatever we think about the game and the competition, people will look at current games available and whats coming out in the holiday period to make their choice. Not everybody decides on what gaming sites say. The vast majority of unit sales are none hardcore
gamers like parents buying for kids and part time weekend players that save up for xmas, and tomb raider will sell to those better than COD esp if they are young children or want games they can stop and pickup a week or two later.

Microsoft made 77billion last year and sony lost 2 billion - do the math

 

Absolutely Geek, once MS say Sony's innovation, they quickly copied!! Just like once Sony saw MS innovation with the 360, they quickly copied. This gen it seemed like Sony released gamers just want the 360, nothing more (which we do) MS thought gamers wanted
the ps3 (a bunch of extra junk) and created the X1.

 

@F00, that 77b came from the abomination that is windows and Office! maybe not much from Xbox. While with Sony, they make great products, just others make better ones that are cheaper! Thats their problem. While MS has the opposite of that, they make terrible
products, just sell them as cut rate prices, when compared to apple, MS products are utter garbage! So they are priced like garbage. I think for both companies, Consoles is what they do best, BY FAR!

 

The Order is made by Sony......Not by 2nd or 3rd party devs.

Uncharted 4 got no release date,just speculations.

And if Sony did got Rise of Tomb Raider as a exclusive,i'm pretty sure internet ,instead of flaming Microdoft,will be praising Square Enix,Cristal Dinamic and Sony for the best move in gaming history.......

Why Sony sold his Square Enix share,in the first place,anyway.....

So you know that for a fact, that if Sony bought TR it would be praised? Where is your proof? When did sony buy a exclusive and everyone loved it?

Im sorry, I'm not like you I don't memorize who ones what studios. Honestly the only reason why MS is being flamed, because it makes no sense, they bought exclusive rights of a game that Xbox fans don't want. Titanfall made sense, thats is an xbox game!
They should have thrown countless money to keep that a xbox exclusive. But they didn't, COD is an xbox game! Destiny is an xbox game, Battlefield is an xbox game, Tomb raider is a PS game! If you like fps you go with xbox, if you like platformers you go with
PS, thats how it is.

If you are a real gamer, you get both consoles! Or all three if you count Nintendo.
