How much data does downloading games use?

i have a relatively large plan, but i'm curious if downloading these 50 gb games is going to use up a lot of my data, or if its not that big of a deal. thanks.

How much data does downloading a game (56 gb) use?

The amount of data used (i.e. bandwidth) would be at least equal to the download size. I day at least as that generally does not include any patches that may be necessary for the game.

Hey, like many of you i'm interested in the big sale microsoft is having on xbox, but after looking at some of the games, downloading over 50 gigabytes from the internet seems like a lot. i know it definitely would be a big deal from a computer, but i'm
curious how much of my internet data would be used in order for a game of this magnitude to be downloaded from an xbox one? i have a pretty large data plan, but i don't want to use it all on one thing, and since i'm not knowledgeable in regards to this sort
of thing, i have no idea how much its going to use. thanks in advance for any help, and sorry if it's a dumb question.

 

P.S i mean downloading games from the store, not from the disc if that wasn't clear.

 

A 50Gb game will use up 50Gb of data and a 20GB game will use up 20GB of data etc.

Whether or not that's a lot will depend on your monthly plan.

Also bear in mind that, while downloading the game, it will also download any updates that apply to it. This also applies to installing a game from a disc. Some of these updates can add extra GB on top of the size shown in the description. For example, there's
well over 20GB worth of updates for Halo the Master Chief Collection, that will need to be downloaded and installed, along with the game regardless of whether you buy the game digitally or on a disc.
