How many people use their XB1 for more than gaming.

Oh yeah forgot about Skype!!! Skype on X1 is so good!!!

 

96% Gaming, 2% Skype, 1% Twitch, 1% Halo Channel.

 

80% gaming other 20% is Netflix/Hulu/Blu-Ray/DVD/HBO GO. My wife is 99% non gaming with an occasional game of Kinect Sports thrown in.

 

Uploading inappropriate Engagement videos and Marriage proposals %75 of the time

Than Gaming, It' in my Gaming room where all I do is gaming, Oh, And those videos I mentioned

 

I use my XBOX ONE for gaming, Netflix, and Blu-Ray/DVD.

 

I use my XB1 for everything that I can. Gaming, watching TV/movies, listening to music, etc. That's the main reason why I bought it. Lol.

 

I use mine for games, music, DVDs and blue ray.

 

if people are doing it right, then they'd all use it for more than just gaming. i know i do.

 

I'm pretty spread out, I think - I not only play games (at least an hour a day), but I also use it to watch movies on Netflix, TV shows on Hulu Plus, and videos on YouTube. I also chat with my brother and friends using Skype, browse these forums (and other
sites) using the Internet Explorer app, communicate issues and bugs to the development team with the Feedback app, preview games on Twitch (and would broadcast if I could - connection's not good enough), read news on Reddx, and view specific game details and
features through specific game apps, and more...

 

I'm usuing it for fantasy football on the weekends by SNAPing my ESPN stats and watching the games...or watching tv while playing games during the week....Never thought I would use this feature so much after hearing them announcing it at the E3 2013 and
say wth? Well now i'm saying about f'n time...YES!

 

I also find using twitch now makes it easier to see if I want to play a game or how it performs etc and it's perfect for all those review "Embargos" that we are all so fortunate to be stuck with every major release nowadays.

 

Agree twitch and YouTube make that decision on whether to buy a certain game or not so much easier. I watched a friend play Watchdogs and it confirmed all the doubts I had from previous demos and trailers.

 

I have an HTPC for other forms of media,i want a gaming console to game...and that's it. That said i understand not everyone has an HTPC and i get the desire of it to many.

Mine is mostly a gaming machine. Despite the fact that my Xbox One is set to Instant on and is sitting in close proximity to my TiVo box, I've never actually connected the cable box to my console. I personally don't see the point. When I want to play
games, that's all I want to do, I don't want to watch TV at the same time and my Kinnect hasn't been hooked up for months.

I do play Blu-rays regularly on it, and I have tested out the new Media Player capabilities which are very good. However, my TV is a Samsung Smart TV, which already has the ability to play all the popular video file types - including MKV files - and has the
popular media apps such as YouTube and Netflix so I hardly use the Xbox to use those.

It is pretty neat though to be able to jump into Internet Explorer or YouTube to get tips and video walkthroughs while I'm in a game On the One. It's even easier than when I try to do the same thing on a PC. On the computer I have to press keys to get to
the desktop to get to YouTube, and even then some games are still playing their music in the background, something the Xbox One doesn't do, which is great.
