How many of you will start with another gamertag Im new and just curious

This sounds stupid, I have friends that have had the same GT or account for 10 years. Even if you want a new GT, you can just pay for a GT change. So, you can keep your current friends list and not have to send out countless
messages about a new name or new friend request.. Also, if you do change it is nice to send a message. Unless, you are trying to hide from annoying friends. Then by all means start a fresh account and keep it moving.

 

I play on both consoles with this account.

 

No, because I like for my online friends to know who I am, so when they only know me by my gamertag, it would be silly to change my online identity.

 

If someone wants to friend me and I find out that they use multiple accounts, I'll usually say no to the friend request, because I don't want 2 profiles for 1 person taking up space on my friends list that would cause confusion. You only need 1 - more than
that is nonsensical and expensive.

 

Problem with X1. 1000 friends max, cant see any from the 360. Still have to agree with GG, multpile accounts are a NG.

 

No reason to start another account, I can either use one of my other accounts or pay for a name change. You can bounce back and forth between the 360 and the X1 with the same G.T..

The account I post with is my main account; I keep other accounts for friends that come over OR if I just feel like playing though a game again and watching an achievement pop. Not really expensive as I only used "trial" cards for them; and now with the
X1, don't even have to do that.

Close friends have my alts if they want as well as I have theirs. If we want to play together, without being bombed by game invites by regulars, it's as easy as switching accounts. Don't really see a issue with alts.

The very concept of this makes absolutely no sense what so ever.

 

I've had the same GT for 11 years. I'm not changing it.

 

Creating my GT was hell, hell that I don't want to ever repeat. Plus, I really like my gamertag

 

If everyone did that, we would eventually have a list full of strangers on our friends list.

 

Hello everyone

I have a question to ask & this thread seemed appropriate for it

When I get my Xbox One...

(1) Does there have to be an active Gamertag to get the system update?

(2) Since it has been confirmed that it is possible to have the same Gamertag active on the Xbox 360 & Xbox One at the same time, can someone please tell me how to disconnect the Xbox One Wi-Fi permanently once I get this Gamertag into my Xbox One?

Lei Fang, I imagine it would be as simple as removing your network settings off of the Xbox One through the settings menu if it's wireless or simply unplugging your ethernet cable if it's a wired connection.

You're welcome! Just to be specific though, now that I know you have a wireless connection, it's under the network menu under settings. From there, all you have to do is choose "go offline" or "disconnect wireless" on the bottom left.
