How long does swapping Gamertags around take?

Hi Guys,

So far I have followed the process through having all 3 email addresses that are required by microsoft and I have moved one of my Gamertags to the account "C". So now I just have my Gamertag that I want and an email account that should be open. However on
the top right corner of the xbox 360 screen the second gamertag I do not care for shares the email address I want to keep. When I go into Settings it shows up the fake account I have made to switch the gamertag over. I was wondering how long it will take before
the desired email address will be fully detached from the unused gamertag so I can attach the address I use to the gamertag I use. I has been more than 24 hours since the first gamertag change and I had waited 30 days prior to this for the gamertag to be okay
to do the whole swapping ritual.

The owner of the game has to load the game on each console using his gamertag. The linked gamertag would be able to access the game without a disc.

To confirm question 1, there's no function on the Xbox One at the moment to switch a gamertag to a different Microsoft Account.

 

I think each time you make a change on a particular account you need to wait 30 days until you make further changes on that one. It's a security thing, and I think this is the 30 days mentioned in the guide (support article) you seem to be following.

The first 30 days you had to wait was because it was a new account; had you had a third account to hand already and been able to use that, you could have done the first step straight away and not had to wait those particular 30 days.

I am at stage 3 lower down the page. However instead of

Microsoft account 1 is now free.

Gamertag B remains linked to Microsoft account 2.

Gamertag A is now linked to Microsoft account 3.

I have

Gamertag A is now linked to Microsoft account 1.

Gamertag B remains linked to Microsoft account 2.

Gamertag A is now linked to Microsoft account 3.

I am waiting for microsoft to dissociate Gamertag A from Account 1. I have waited over 24hrs as support told me it would take and I'm wondering how long people know it would take?

Where and how are you seeing that Gamertag A is linked to both MSA 1 and 3?

 

Its fixed now thankyou, now I have the new problem that only one account on the xbox refuses to connect to xbox live. So i deleted it and tried to redownload and it cancels out everytime with this code 80150016.

 

Hi, it may be a slight overkill but try these steps:

1. Check account.live.com/.../manage to see if at least two security proofs are setup and verified. A phone number and alternate email would be best

2. Delete your profile from the console, be sure to delete only the profile, to do so check this link:

support.xbox.com/.../profile-move-delete

3. Clear the console cache, see this link for the how to:
support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

4. Turn the console off.

5. Turn the console on.

6. Clear the console cache one more time

7. Redownload your profile.(See the same link as 2.)
