How long can you pause a download?

Thinking to get use of codes that came with X1 and keep within my 20G a month bandwidth.

Usually have about 10G left over most months.

So can you start a download, and pause it for a month to just continue then?

And many times you find poor DL speed when you start, and want to postpone to another time of day.

So The Division will take 4 months to download.

How hard is it for reviewers to work out you need a slightly longer pause after the xbox command before the follow up command !!!

Cortana does not work!

In addition to the answers provided, make sure you don't have a super long pause, waiting for her to wake up. Sometimes that causes the issue of her not hearing you. Just speak to her like you would with an "Xbox" command, without a long pause.

I've paused for a few days and it was fine.

Also, as a side note, data caps are the biggest load of rubbish. They're almost as scandalous as having to pay a TV license which is €160 a year.

Thank you, then maybe there is a way to do that.

I can upgrade my 4G internet for a month and then go back, but they raised prices so it will cost me like Gold for a year extra.

So alternative could be to sell code, and buy on disc instead - about the same money as the above.

But pausing download is what I will try then.

Unfortunately this will not solve your problem as the file size for the game cannot fit on the disc so you still have to download a large chunk of it anyway

If you feel like it you could call your internet provider and tell them you want to move to a different company because they are to expensive, depending on who your internet provider is they may offer you an upgraded package with a higher download limit
per month for a reduced price. Just don't tell them why you are straight away incase they actually cancel your internet or something

How long are you leaving the console when the game installation has paused/stopped? Is the progression bar still on the screen? Are these disc based or downloaded games?

Hi,

if you are pausing a download, you can resume it later.

The download can only be fast, if both sides have the needed bandwith. If the server for the titanfall download is too busy, it takes a long time.
