How long before xbox one supports mouse and keyboard for gaming?

Xbox One, not all game and app supports mouse and keyboard. For some games and app, the mouse and keyboard support feature need to enabled before you can use it. It's recommended you consult the game or app publisher if you're not sure about this.

2. Almost every USB keyboard work with Xbox One. It depends on the game or the app you'll play on Xbox One. To use a USB keyboard or mouse on Xbox One, you'll need an input adapter. See

3. Yes. The controller will still be active when you're using the keyboard or mouse. And you can use the controller to configure the mouse.

I think the Head of Xbox said (maybe even last year) that he'd like to see if it was possible, but to my knowledge that statement did not come with an expected timeline. I think it was others interpreting the message who guessed at a timeline, suggesting
the news would be announced at E3 and so on.

So it may still be in development or the idea may have not proceeded any further than just being an ideal. That said, you can head over to
http://feedback.xbox.com/ and upvote the suggestion there to show your support for it; that website is read by the Xbox engineering team and they use it to gauge interest in features.

I don't know where you heard those rumors, but I haven't heard a thing about that (other than the occasional thread asking what happens if you plug a KB/M into the Xbox).

While it would be nice, I'd imagine Microsoft is holding back because:

a. Xbox games are primarily coded to use the controller.

b. Microsoft wants to sell those controllers.

c. In multiplayer matches, KB/M users always beat controller users.

Just let little features like that come to you as an unexpected surprise one day. Then, you'll be like "Wow! I didn't know I can do this! How fun! Let's play ALL the video games!"

If you wait forever with high expectations, then you become bitter, like a person with broken promises and dreams. Then, if and when it comes out, you'll be like "Ugh, it's about time, Microsoft. Ugh, the mouse sensitivity is garbage. I hate video games."

Currently there is keyboard and mouse support, but its up to developers of those games to add the option to allow it. Warface is not one of them that allows keyboard and mouse support yet. I can see that it is an upcoming title for keyboard and mouse support

A keyboard and mouse, wireless or wired only work on a very limited selection of games (about 30+) for other games it's controller only. All Xbox One games with mouse and keyboard support
