How is the xbox one controller supposed to be held?

Sup people. I'm asking Xbox Forums directly.

The thing is, that I'm very curious to know if the Xbox One controller is supposed to be held a certain way. I mean, I've felt that the controller is now designed so you do not need to leave your two index thumbs from the trigger to actually hit the bumpers.
In addition, it seems that the grip for the other fingers feels like there's a special way to fit it.

So, that's it. Is there a special way to hold the controller to take advantage of all the ergonomics, or is it the same as the 360?

Mine is clear across the room and I hear nothing. I've never gotten up close to it while it's running though.

Mine does make a noise. Periodically, the fans ramp up to full pelt for a few seconds and it is completely irritating and takes you out of the game experience. I keep hearing from many people that theirs is completely silent, which is backed up by the feedback
from all of the youtubers that received freebies early. Therefore, mine is going through an advanced exchange with Microsoft.

The console is in clear space with loads of room around it. It sits about 10 feet from me. When the fans 'blast', it sounds like extremely high winds. Very disappointing.

 

I never even thought about it, I use mine like i did the 360 whatever is comfy for you I guess.

 

To be honest, this is a question that no one can answer for you. It all comes down to personal preferance, and how you can best use the controller. Cheers!
