How is the time spent playing the Microsoft Solitaire Collection daily challenges calculated?

How is the time spent playing the Microsoft Solitaire Collection daily challenges calculated?

It is puzzling me as to how the time spent on a daily challenge is calculated - it is showing I spend 3 hrs. on the last challenge - yet I only spent a total of 1 hr. actually playing the challenges. I did log in and take a challenge & completed it, while
waiting for a conference call - then went to do other things for about 2 hrs. then came back and did a few more challenges - but never really finished them.

When I checked this morning - It is showing I spent 3 hrs. when I know it was only max 1 hr.



Just checking - I work in quality control for software so I do notice these things - and this is not the first time I noticed a difference in time spent playing and the time reported at the end of the challenge. So I had to ask.



I play for the fun of it and the challenge - not so much for the titles and prizes - although they are nice.

Daily Challenge in Microsoft Solitaire Collection crashes.

When I try to play the daily challenge in Microsoft Solitaire Collection it crashes and goes back to my desktop. How do I fix this?

I started playing Microsoft solitaire collection daily challenges from Feb 2018. I also want to play and score for Jan 2018. Please provide support. Mubeen Puri

Are you playing the game on a PC or mobile device? It's possible that the game may not have closed out fully causing the timer to continue to run is why I ask. Has this happened consistently and have you tried to reinstall the game to see if it helped?

If I want to stop playing even for a few minutes, I always 'gracefully' exit the Collection completely. That seems to work.

 

I am playing on a laptop (PC). I will try closing it out - it might be that it was up in the background. Thanks for the replies.
