How have you recently enjoyed playing an old favorite game in a new way?

Video games can often be gifts that keep on giving, with new experiences coming from the games we already know and love. Sometimes this might come from the game itself, such as a DLC, a new season, trying a new game mode or difficulty setting, or replaying
a game with a different character or playing style. Other times, it might come from something external, like having a new person or group to play a game with, playing in a tournament or at an event, or streaming a game for the first time.

Today, I'm asking you to discuss a recent-ish experience you've had enjoying an old favorite game in a new way, and briefly discuss how or why you've enjoyed the experience!

One such experience I've had recently is playing some matches in Rocket League's Dropshot Mode. The mode came out in early 2017, when I was still new to Rocket League, and I mostly ignored the mode at the time in favor of trying to get better at the more
standard game modes. I forgot about the mode until recently, when I fired it up as I was trying to remember exactly how it worked. It's really fun! It changes the way goals are scored completely, and almost feels like a hybrid between standard Rocket League
and something I'd expect to find in a strategy game. It emphasizes good team play by making good rotations rather than all chasing the ball at the same time, which is sometimes easier said than done. It also emphasizes aerial skills, which are not my strong
suit, but I can already tell that I've improved a little since I started playing the mode again.

I recently got the old castlevania collection and I am enjoying it, due to I save my location at anytime on the castlevania games and come back to it, If I have to get off and stuff like that. I love this idea for old games due to there is stuff that can
come up and get in the way of gaming. So instead of being disappointed and having to rush pause and in case someone else wants on the console. The game is saved so no problem to worry about.

The megaman collection does have this feature on the first bundle collection but not the second as well. Love this feature on the classic games.

I am enormus fan of Ubi's Ghost recon Wildlands. By itself, game is huge open world tactical shooter with lot's of ways to solve problem, blind enemy and you choose which underbos you will deal with in your way, in your time. Game is beutifull and you can
drive many wehicles and see many different locations. But, the best thing, which is the point of this thread is coming back to game. In co-op, or by yourself. Ubisoft allways put something different, like predator mission which is, for me, the best episode
in any shooter to date. And afther that, Sam Fisher mission. And a lot of other stuff. So, to conclude, I will always coming back and never be bored.

I went back and started playing both Black Ops 1 and Path of Exile again, you tend to forget some things and also remember a few things along the way. It is refreshing to work through the story again.

Never. I never play old games. If MKII came out as a BC title, it would be the only one.
