How game sharing works.

Me and my father are trying to game share so I can own some of the games he has without needing to pay immense amounts of money, I've tried learning over Reddit and other websites but I can't seem to understand most of it, I'm trying to understand if 1. I can download his games after making his home Xbox my console and when he switches it again can I still play the games I got from his console, and 2. Can we gameshare without having to switch home xboxs and how that works.

Yes. Since he owns the games he can play them as long as he's signed in on any console.

In order for you to access his games, he would need to set your console as his Home. You will only have access to the games while using his Home console. If he switches the Home setting to another console, you will no longer be able to access his games.

Its not for game sharing its more to allow kids to play there own online gaming
