How does Xbox live work with two consoles ?

So today I pre ordered the new xbox one elite console.

I decided I would keep my old xbox one console and set it up for the kids upstairs.

Do I have to purchase another xbox live account for them to play on ?

If nit how do the games work ? For eg. Can I play call of duty on my console downstairs while my son plays it upstairs ? Can we play call of duty together like in a party and if so does this mean I have to buy two copies of the game ?

Its all a bit confusing to me.

Two xbox consoles, how to set up logins and xbox live

Hi, I am struggling to find out the best way to set up two xbox consoles. I have set up family members within my account, therefore there is my account with xbox live attached and my two kids accounts so they can login on the one (home console) and use xbox
live. But the second console the xbox live doesn't work. Is there any point in setting up the family members? How do I get xbox live on the second console, does this need to be purchased again but I can't purchase on my account?

Yes! Your scenario above is exactly what they hope for, but it would all be using Xbox 360 consoles (I'm not sure if that makes a difference). Each console does have a separate copy of the game.

I think each person does have an Xbox live account. I'm really unclear how Xbox live works even though I know I'm paying for it for my Son. Is the Xbox Live account attached to a specific account or is it attached to a specific console?

On the One you can share games and gold on any console you have set as your Home console. So if you already have the old One set as your Home, keep it that way and it will work as it does now. On the new console, you'll be able to download all of your games
and play them as long as you are signed into Live.

You would need to buy 2 copies of games if they are on physical discs.

Nope sorry, this does not exist. There is a reason why not. When you Download Content (any Content) a License is attached to the Profile the DL'd the Content and the first Console it was DL'd on. If no Console was "first", it
would be missing part of the License and would not work properly.

Think of it this way, how does random Console "A" understand you have purchased Content? Two ways, the Profile that purchased it can "vouch" for the License while Connected to Xbox LIVE. Or the Console has the License because it acquired the License from Xbox
LIVE in which the Content was DL'd from directly to that Console.

To be clear the console was not previously banned. Worked on xbox live for 3 months before it got banned. How does this work? Does any console that a banned user has had as a 'home xbox' get banned or whats the deal? So essentially is every used xbox in
jeopardy of getting banned based on the actions of the previous owner that are still some how associated to the console?

I'm sorry but I don't understand how that works... I plan to game simultaneously with her on two separate consoles simultaneously using one gamertag's subscription.
