How does Xbox 360 Cloud Storage work, specifically?

I know it backs up saves to the cloud. Accessible to all platforms through your account via the Cloud, all clear there. I've been unable to copy, only move theDark Souls Xbox 360 save file, I want to ensure the progress is available offline as well as online. I was told in support that it takes a few hours for the Cloud save to "Magically" copy itself back into your HDD Storage after a while of it being moved to Cloud Storage, but such a thing hasn't happened still, even after 18 hours. I see save files on both HDD and Cloud but not for Dark Souls, why and how?

Was I lied to About how 360 Cloud Storage works?

I scoured the FAQ's and nothing similar existed categorically and specifically claiming the 360 of such things. But official Microsoft Tech Support would say otherwise. I'm confused and frustrated. I need clarity because I've been searching and getting mixed messages the whole time.

Thanks for the reply, I suspected as much, just weren't certain. But I still don't know how the Cloud works between the HDD and Cloud for games that do not have such restrictions. Is what the Tech support said true?

Thank you, I've tested it out: back up is manual between HDD and Cloud Storage. Cannot back up automatically, situation doesn't proc passively, even in Sync, you have to do it yourself. Games with restricted licence's or DRM of sorts can only be moved between the two. Bummer, at least for 360 you have some agency over all this.

all seamless.

On Steam games I have to manually disable Cloud storage if I don't want to use it on a title that supports it.
