How does one make an Xbox Friend anyways?

How do I make Xbox Friends? I have owned my Xbox 360 for 3 years now, and have owned the Xbox One since Nov. 2014. I have yet to make any Xbox friends? How does one make Xbox Friends anyways? There is absolutely no tutorials or information with either
Xbox on how to do this. Lets get a major post going and maybe a tutorial for us people that have absolutely no clue how to even start adding a friend.Mine main question of why to make friends on Xbox is are friends considered to be safe, they wont be hacking
or breaking your console identity?

It is normal I want xbox one to fix the party options we should be able to talk to xbox 360 friends and xbox one friends at the same time also it does not show how many friends I have online still a little more tweaks Microsoft has to make in order for it

Xbox friends should not be trusted with any personal information, of any kind.

They may become great friends to play online games with, but they are still complete strangers.

No one can hack your console without your personal details,all they get by joining your list is your gamertag.

but seriously you have to get good at games. i got really good at halo reach back in 2010 and met a guy and now were like brothers. we always talk on fb and skype.

i also know his family, we're really close now. its been an amazing 4 years one day ill meet him in Florida

 

That still does not help me. How do you get gamertags of people? Must you play online games with them ? How do you play online games ? I guess I have never played an online game with anyone before. I know what kind of games I like to play but how do I
find people that like the same style of games? or at lest have the same interests, ability(experience), I don't want to play with people that have cheated or or not willing to help out new people to learn the game.

Whenever you play a public multiplayer game you are playing online.

Those people on your screen are other players from around the world.

If you then go to your recently met players, press guide and go to your messages then scroll right,you will see the gamertags of everyone you just played with.

By opening their profiles you can send them a friend request.

If you are playing the same game then surely your game interests match, nothing else really matters.

 

Just talk to people in lobbies, be friendly and have fun. That's how I met people back in the day.

 

Look on the internet for game forums and socialise there.

 

There is no guide to making friends, sometimes someone will message you from a multiplayer game you've been playing etc. and things go from there.

I personally have met heaps of my XBL friends through getting achievements together, more recently Twitter has provided heaps of new Xbox friends as well as hanging around these forums.

 

Haven't read through the thread, but I'd say it's all about how you carry yourself in game.

Other gamers pay attention to how you play and act during a game. For example, say you're playing a

shooter. You're preforming well, have good communication, helping the team out. People will notice and wanna play with you. Understand what I'm saying? Also add your regular life friends. If they play video games but don't own a Xbox. Do some recruiting,
talk em into it.

I know for me, I always pay attention to how people play. Also sometimes you'll get into a party with one friend of yours, and feel like you connect with that friend friend's whom are also in the party. Add them, talk to them, game with them.

 

OMG or ---- TRoll la ala la is another option too...
