How does one delete a controller/accessory?

Thanks for the update. Take a look at the following troubleshooting article
Configuring the Elite controller for more information.

• The slots correspond with the Profile Switch in the middle of your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller. You can have two different profiles saved to your controller at one time. For example, if Slot 1 is your shooter profile and Slot 2 is your racing profile,
  just flip the switch and you're ready to go. You won't need to adjust any other settings. You can also do this while you play a game.
• Your configuration of the slots travels with your controllers. If you take your controller to a friend's house, the configuration will be saved on the controller and usable there.
  
• If you customize Slot 1 or Slot 2 on your controller on a different console, the new configuration will be saved to the controller and overwrite your old configuration.

I recommend reviewing the configuration for the elite controller.

Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. Just to clarify, are the switches on the controller swapped? And if so, have you tried this support article for

Configuring the Elite controller? It should provide some more info on how you might be able to resolve the issue.

You may also want to Assign the Controller to your profile as suggested by Ambassador SA1NT 0F LI3S.

I believe you want to assign a controller to a specific account. To do this please follow the steps below:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Under Kinect & devices, select Devices & accessories.
5. Select the controller. The current account assigned to that controller is indicated.
6. To assign the controller to another account, select the account currently assigned to it.
7. Select Assign to someone.
8. Select the account that you want to assign to the controller.

This will pair the controller to this account.

Not at all wht i'm trying to do. Read the question please. I went onto great detail explaining the whole situation. I was on the phone with xbox support for just short of 2hrs yesterday the 2nd person I spoke to, came up with, my controller
won't run the update that's required for the firmware. Which is the reason for the "TOGGLE" in the center of the controller that's physically on the elite controller that changes the "Button Mapping Profile" to be on the opposite selection from the physically
selected option on the controller itself. I hope that clears up any confusion. If u have any questions feel free to email me.

The Toggle selector is flipped from wht the screen shows vs wht the physical controller has selected.
