How does it work with the headset

Hi guys,

I'm about to buy a headset for my new Xbox One. I'm actually confused with the whole headsets.

I know that there are headsets for XBOX 360 and with the new adapter coming up, I will be able to use those, but do I have to put my MIC into the Kinect and my audio cable into the adapter??

When I wait for an official XBOX ONE headset (Turtle Beach offers 3) does it work as normal? Just plug it in to the controller and it works?

Questions about headset please answer

Those TB Adapter are mainly for their own headsets it does say they might not fully work with other headsets I would update using the TB Adapter with your xo then just see how the other headset works.

 

Will Triton Warhead Halo 4 edition headset work with XBOX 1

Will Triton Warhead Halo 4 edition headset work with XBOX 1? Just got my Xbox 1 and can't figure out how to sync the Triton Warhead Halo 4 edition headset. Does anyone know if this head set will work with the Xbox 1?

 

Okay so a 360 head set will connect to your xbox via optical cable for game audio (the more expensive wireless ones anyways) im not sure how the wired ones would work. There is a chat cable that will connect the head set to the controller for chat audio.

The xbox one versions that Microsoft and turtle beach have made will just plug in to your controller and you will get game and chat audio from that

 

I'm personally waiting for a Wireless headset there isn't 1 wireless headset on the market they all say they wireless but have this rediculous cord going from headset to controller which seems to always catch on something and cause strangling or breakage
of cord i have somehow broken 2 headsets that came with the One cause of a silly cord to controller, bring back the Microsoft Wireless Headset .

 

So with an old XBOX 360 headset I will just have Game Audio and chatting goes through the Kinect? So what's the sense of an headset then? haha

When I wait for one of those XBOX ONE headsets everything will work as it's supposed to be?

 

NO nothing goes through the kinect anymore. there is a cable just like the 360 had where it plugs into the controller that it is what makes the chat and mic work for the head set the other cable will go to your xbox it works just like it did on 360. The
difference for the new mics, the new ones made for the xbox one. Is that it doesnt need to plug into your tv or console it plugs in to your controller for game audio and chat audio

and as for there not being a true wireless head set out. They are wireless in the sense that you don't have a long cord running to your xbox. But there isn't an adapter out yet that connects it via bluetooth like on 360. However you can buy one and still
plug in a talk back cable and wait for some one to make a bluetooth adapter. (I have xp500 turtle beaches from the 360 and that's pretty much what i am doing)

 

I just have 2.4ghz headsets on 360 they not the bluetooth ones, i'm sure they can release another similar and chat never went through kinect cause i never had one, i think they using 5 ghz controllers on the One i dont see them doing bluetooth cause its
garbage.

 

IF you currentheadset works ont he xbox 360 (HDMI) model you will more than likely you will only need just two adapters. One for sound and one for the mic.

The sound coming out of the xbox one is via a coax cable so IF you're using a Theatre (movie) reciever or a stereo reciever which can accept coax in (The glowing red light via glass inside the cable) and push out sound into the cables used for your headset
your fine.

I had to buy a digital to analog adapter for my wireless headset as it plugs in via a white and red audio cable. ($15 to $55 depending on where you shop)

In English:

If our headset needs red+white for sound, you will need to buy a DAC (digital Audio converter).

If your headset accepts one coax cable (the cable that looks like a red lazer is coming out of it int he dark, when plugged in) you will not need anything.

If you have a reciever that accepts coax in and puts out red+white this means your reciever has a DAC built in.

***To talk to others via a headset mic***

Logic / easy is to use the Kinect unless your gaming area will be filled with other noises and talking from others. (free)

The cheapest way to go is to buy the adapter set to release in March (make sure you have a mini USB cable for your controller) $25 + cable if you dont have one

If you dont mind cutting the cables on the headset and soldering a 2.5mm plug into the headset that is easy...DO NOT unsolder what is wired into the little adapter just cut the cable in the middle )leaving 6 - 10 inches and solder those 4 wires to the 2.5m
plug from radio shack. $4 value for the plug + soldering iron $45
