    How does ‘ask to buy’ on my child’s Xbox Series S account actually work in practice...


    I have ‘ask to buy’ set-up on my child’s account. Today they requested to buy some in-game currency. I did not receive an email and I could not see anywhere on my Xbox account where I could approve/purchase this for him when I logged in to my account? I thought I would just get an email and have to click a link to go buy it. What am I doing wrong here please? How do I get this to work? The only way I managed to do it was to disable the ‘ask to buy’ add a payment card to his account and go in and buy it that way. I shouldn’t have to do that though...how should it work please? Please do not just reply to say that I can approve it on the console or via email because, as I say, I could not see any way of doing that as I did not get an email and there were no pending approvals or somewhere to approve requests in my account. I am very surprised that this was not a simple thing to do.

    XBOX game pass ultimate UK region. 2 xbox (one S one X).

    Both suggestions seem the same. I tried it. Does not work.

    My series s is NOT set as home and only my account with xgu is signed in and playing.

    My series x is set as home console and tried playing as a child. It complained that I am already playing. Asked me if i want to logout on the x. I did that. Only child was left logged in. Then game would not launch. Said person that bought it needs to be signed in. Frustrating.

    Please try logging in first to your account on the Xbox Series X console then log in with the child account. Try launching the game after that and see if it works. If it works and the game has launched successfully, try logging in to your account on the Xbox Series S console.
