How do you unlock account when passcode is correct?

    How do you unlock account when passcode is correct?


    my son's account has been locked and is asking for a 4 digit passcode, I have put the correct one in but it is not accepting it, any ideas please?

    PassCode is incorrect

    OK, when I go to sign into my profile on XBox it says that my passcode is incorrect. I can get into my account on XBox.com but not on the system with the passcode. How do I reset the passcode for the profile or recover it if I have the incorrect one?

    Hi there,

    depending on the passcode required both answers can be correct.

    If it is an family passcode that is required then please follow the steps specified by onyx62is, Only Xbox Support is able to help you reset a family passcode.

    If it is an xbox live passcode then the steps specified by MommaBear8689 should do the trick

    (This will require the email address and password for the Xbox Live account)

    Just to clarify, you are referring to the individual LIVE passcode on your account, not the Family Settings passcode, correct? If you recover the account, it should remove the LIVE passcode permanently. If it isn't working, try to delete your profile (profile
    only, not items!), clear system cache, restart the console, and then recover your profile.

    Onyx is incorrect. Hey SMK, all you gots to do is download your profile. And then the passcode is reset. However!!!, if your passcode pops up when you click on "Family" in settings, then you definitely need to call support. And then Onyx will be correct

    Hey there Karma! Just to be clear, there are two types of Passcodes on the console. One is when you try to sign into a profile on the console (account passcode) and one when you try to use certain functions on the console (family passcode).

    The account passcode is simply bypassed by downloading the profile again. Since that doesn't seem to help, I'm assuming this is the family passcode. If you do not know this, or the answer to the security questions, you'll need to
    contact us directly and speak with an agent. They should be able to assist you further. Thanks!
