how do you sign out a profile?

I'm not understanding the issue you are having. Are you asking how to login into a different profile on Xbox.com, if so all you have to do is log out and sign back in with another one. If you are talking about Xbox Live, all you need to do is sign out
and sign back in with your profile you want to be signed in with. I hope this helps.

When more than one person is signed in to an Xbox at the same time, only one of those people is in control of the console.

You forgot to sign out of another location that you do not have access to, you can change your password and it will require to log in again if you had your password saved elsewhere.

Let me start off by stating that this thread is two years old; you shouldn't bump old threads. As for signing out a profile on a Windows Phone, as was mentioned by Maxen13 above, you'd have to reset the phone in order to sign out a profile and sign in with
a new one. How to do that would depend on the phone itself, but you should find the option in the settings.
