Here's how:

1. Sign in using your Xbox Live gamertag.
2. Go to Settings and select Account.
3. Scroll right to Your Information and select Account Security.

4. Select Password at Sign-In.
5. Require Password Here

is this when your on the xbox one or 360? if 360 gotta go to xbox guide button> go to the right to settings> Profile> sign-in preferences> turn on.
