How do you prevent games from crashing?

I've recently had Forza Horizon 2 crash during a loading screen which corrupted my data. The game would no longer let me login using my profile only so my only option was to restart after putting nearly 40 hours into the game.

By crash I mean when the audio buzzes profusely for a couple seconds and you are sent back to the dashboard. I have had corrupted data issues with two games so far because of it. I can't seem to find any information why it actually happens or ways to prevent
it. Memory leak is the big one I think but even hard rebooting your console doesn't prevent it from freezing an half hour later. I hope my experiences with corrupted data are very isolated but it has happened twice which is a big concern for me.

Anyone have and input?

How do i prevent my child from deleting games and installing games that are "Ready to Install"?

 

How do I prevent den takeovers?

They come after me whenever I set one of their towers on fire. These tower defense mini games are horrible.

 

How do you have your console hooked up to the power? Is it directly plugged into the mains or via an adapter? Is there a surge protector present? I've seen some of these problems before and quite a few were caused by how the console was connected to the
mains supply. If you have a surge protector stop using it, the Xbox One does not work well with surge protectors and can cause it to behave quite oddly.

Also, if you are using an adapter, the adapter may be faulty. Both a surge protector or faulty power adapters can also cause the console to crash/lockup, stutter, fail to load games and apps or become stuck in games or apps launch screens. The console can
also drop back to the dashboard, like you are experiencing.

I went through three consoles, with similar issues. Working with Microsoft support, we finally came to the conclusion that the power adapter I was using was the issue. When I plugged the replacement directly into the mains back April, I've had no issues at
all.

 

Crashing? Go buy Battlefield 4 if you want to see crashing. Honestly, if I had $1 for every time I saw the black screen of death in BF4 I probably could have come close to buying me a new copy of the game, maybe 2 copies.

 

I am using a surge protector but it it isn't a cheap one. The way I have my entertainment unit I need to have the tv plugged into one outlet and surge protect in another. The tv cable goes through the wall and only reaches to the specific wall outlet. That's
a good suggesting though. I never thought about that. No I don't use any adapters.

It seems to be an occuring issue for everyone and it doesn't happen too often but since it has corrupted my data, it is always in the back of my mind. I don't want to have to replay 40 hours of progress over and over again if it isn't even my fault.
