How do you make a purchase using credit from your account?

I've got some money in my account as part of a promo but I can't seem to be able to make purchases with it. It keeps asking for billing info which I'm not comfortable posting when I hear about all the hacks and compromised personal info in other stores like
on playstation or steam.

I've tried to change the payment option but it only gives me an option to use a credit card or a paypal account.

I don't see why I even need billing info if I'm using prepaid cards.

My friend said he posted an inquiry on one of your forms and it just cleared itself up after 2 days or so without even getting a notice or anything. Could you fix this so I can make purchases with my xbox?

How did you make the purchase? In order to qualify for that offer, the purchase has to be made using currency from your Microsoft account balance. Credit card/Paypal purchases do not count towards that offer.

If you did make the purchase using currency, the credits should show as pending about 96 hours after the purchase.

 

For 360 content, you'll have to use your console to make the purchases. If you're using the website, currency will not be an option.

You do need billing information on file (address and stuff) for verification purposes if something was to happen to your account.

 

I am using my console. When I select the purchase option, it asks for confirmation for my password even though I have my console defaulted to remember my password. After I enter my password, it then asks for my first and last name. After that, it asks for
my billing address which is were I cancel out because I think that's bull.

My friend had the same problem and he said that after he put in a billing address it then went on to ask for credit card info. He said it was crap cause he got a gift card that he redeemed so he had a balance on his account that he couldn't use and it wouldn't
default to the account balance. That's the same problem I have now.

He told me he posted for help on the form and after 2 days of no responses from xbox support he tried to make another purchase just to see what would happen and it magically corrected itself.

Stuff like this makes me wonder about the microsoft security in general. Worst case, I stick in a bogus billing address and try an old visa cash card with a 0 balance to see what happens.

 

Never mind, Thanks for your help though. A new payment option came up to let me pay from account. Still asks for billing info though.
