  1. How do you know if an update for a game really is accessible to a game?

When installing games from disk, there are simultaneous online download for update for the game as well.

How can you retrieve information like what updates are made, like an log or something?

Are there hashcodes or checksums that can be performed and checked what they should be?

Doing updates on windows you have a log to see exactly what was updated and when.

    :)

And moderators, don't lock threads that are questions how to do - not requests?

Like you have version info on system - there is for games too, but hidden as most things in X1.

I felt my original thread was misread as request - but I'm sure there is some sequence of buttons to reveal that information. I learned many such things having chat support - they open menues I did not know about.

It's such a basic thing you want to check, version and timestamp - I'm sure it's there with some special button sequences. You really have odd such commands like unhiding Ready to update-stuff.

My guess is that there is install log of some kind too, like installers that use msi-files on windows.

While installing a game you could see 29 queued items, which was good - this as a log is there, I'm sure.

Googling on the matter give you mostly such cheats and stuff for specific games.

Just thought somebody put a list together with the various hidden commands.

How do you know if an update for a game really is accessible to a game?

i'm sure the xbox console has it's own checks in place within the OS. it would not and cannot download an "unauthorized" game update, as the updates come from the xbox servers. i suppose some extremely skilled hacker could infiltrate the servers and replace
files, or intercept your network connection and reroute the data being transferred, but this is incredibly unlikely.

if you want to simply know when a game has an update, and how much larger it is than the regular game install, you can go offline before installing disc based games. for example i recently installed Halo Master Chief Collection and it was about 44 GB, but
with the update it became 66 GB. going offline would have allowed me to install just the main disc data, but you would need to download the update anyway to be able to play the game online.

there is nothing accessible to users showing the title updates like there was on the 360. there is no checksum to check, as that would all be automated by the console when downloading. as you said that info is hidden to users. this is simply a decision
made by the developers of the system. some game developers may have update information available at their own website or other channels. if you would like to request user-accessible update logs within the console, you can suggest the idea at
    https://xbox.uservoice.com/

also keep in mind that repeatedly posting the same thing after having your thread closed is potential for you to receive a temporary ban from the forums. i can't say why those posts were closed, but i hope my response is sufficient as i don't want to see
you getting in trouble for simply asking for information.

    DayZ on x1

I've played DayZ alot on PC, and it has issue. Now with that said, it really depends on how they are doing the console version. If they rebuild the game for console, and learn from their lessons from the PC version, then it will work well. Keep in mind,
that even with better netcode and optimization for console, it will still be early access. That means, it Will have bugs. It Will have problems.

It is very important that people know how Early Access gaming is. It is helping the developers fix the problems, listen to You the gamers as to what would make the game better etc.

A lot of people nowadays when they buy Early Access on PC they expect a fully working, perfectly optimized and basically completed game. It is not.

The best you can do is expect problems and bugs, help them fix it by providing feedback, and hopefully enjoy the game.

As for the game itself, DayZ can be really fun. It all depends on how YOU play it and the PEOPLE you meet.

If you are a roleplaying person, the RP aspect of DayZ has been hugely popular, and can be an awesome experience.

Basically, know what Early Access means and how they brought it over to console is important as to if this will work.

dlc packs missing on modern warfare

They really did not think things through with these updates to various game modes. I know they did it so you were not stuck waiting forever for the update, but it is a hassle to find the updates. I really hope other games do not follow this format.
