How do YOU Justify Paying the Full Retail Price Tag on Video Games?

If it's a game I really, really want.

 

How does this work? I mean, you probably don't know what a game is worth until after you play/buy it. So, if you thoroughly enjoyed a game you only spent $10 on, do you mail the publisher a check for $40, because you felt that game was worth $50? Or,
do you just make a deal with the publisher beforehand where you will pay them after you play their game and give them the money you feel they deserve?

 

My car is awesome, but I wouldn't be like "Wow, this car is so awesome, I'm going to send $5,000 extra to the car manufacturing plant because I got a good deal on it and should have paid more!"

 

Maybe it's the way I was raised...on a farm where my entire family worked their rear ends off. If I would have been like "Hey dad, can I have $60 to buy a game?" Dad: "A what? $60 for a game!? Are you out of your mind?!!! Girl get over there and grab
that rake! Maybe at the end of the day I'll give you a dollar. "

 

I paid full price for Titanfall as well as BF4 and both games weren't worth the full price I paid for based on final quality. I also bought Watch Dogs for half off at launch for Pc and that too was a huge let down.

 

Well, I won't exactly mail a dev a check, however, I will buy DLC and possibly a sequel or another title from that dev at full price. I got Borderlands 1 on sale, bought all the DLC. Bought BL2 & the Season Pass day 1. Not disappointed. The Pre-Sequel (BL1.5?)
is already on my Birthday request list. I don't buy many games new because of the options we have. "Back in mah day" 60$ was the only option you had, take it or leave it. I really don't mind paying full price day 1. 12 months after release? yeah, I'm waiting
for a sale.

 

Why should you have to justify what you enjoy doing? I love playing video games. I can support and afford my addiction. I spend on average anywhere between $200-$300 on video games a month. I spend a lot more during the holiday season. This includes, Microsoft
currency, arcade games, retail games, and dlc.

Besides, my life revolves around video games. I work at Gamestop and I'm a video game beta tester.

 

This is so subjective. Clearly what one person can't justify because of price, another person can. Why buy anything at full price? Why wait for it to go down in price? For the average person, It truly depends on how old you are, whether you're working
and how much money you have available for luxuries such as game consoles and games.
