How do you get the Elgato HD 60 to properly work with the Xbox 360?

I've watched several youtube videos and they all do and go over the same stuff but nothing on what I directly need to know.

So here is my issue, I've recently bought an Elgato HD 60 and it works fine when I use it between my PS4 and my PC. I even got the Chat Link Cable which is what I needed in order for it to pick up sound. It's been working fine and no issues what so ever.

Now when I try to do the exact same thing with the Xbox 360 (and of course adjusting the Elgato Settings to be picking up the Xbox 360 and not the PS4) I am able to get Video as clear as day but I am unable to pick up any sound both for myself in my headset
and on the Elgato itself (which means viewers in my streams would not be hearing anything).

I've tried going to the Elgato Tech Support but they are of no help just kinda tossing me around on a wild goose chase going "Well maybe this will work." and "Try this." and I end up having to spend more money and waste more time waiting for things to show
up only for them to not work.

What I want to know is this, is it at all possible to use the Elgato HD 60 to Stream Xbox 360 Games, with both Video and Audio, directly to my PC so that I may actually stream thru Twitch using the OBS App?

Or have I been wasting time for the past several weeks?

You can use Component cables to do this. This is from the Elgato website:

Elgato Game Capture HD comes with a Component adapter. You will have to provide your own Xbox 360 component cable, made by Microsoft or another vendor.

The Xbox 360 shipped with Composite output cables, which work with Elgato Game Capture HD. You must install Elgato Game Capture HD 1.2 software (or above), to use Composite input with the Xbox 360.

 

Game Capture's that work on mac's

The HD PVR requires third-party elgato software. You'll have to pay an extra $60 to buy the program though, the program that comes with the HD PVR is NOT compatible with a Mac.

Also, for live commentaries, you have to sync them up yourself.

Don't get the gaming HD PVR because the only thing that's different about it is the colour. It also comes with component cables, but you can get those for like $5 on Amazon compared to $15, which is what Hauppauge is charging for them.(They come with the
HD PVR.)

The simple answer is yes, you can record/stream your Xbox 360 just like you would your PS4 or PC with the Game Capture HD60.

As to why no audio is being picked up, Is the Xbox 360 set to output stereo audio over HDMI? can you hear game sound coming through your monitor/TV speakers?
