how do you download a profile on a xbox 360? it will not let me sign in on the console.

Late reply but maybe useful for future visitors.

360 content has two licenses. One belongs to your profile and the other to the console the content was first downloaded to.

That first license lets you play the content on any 360 as long as the profile which bought it is signed in. The second, the console license, lets you use use the content offline and share it with any other profile on that console without the need for the
purchasing profile to be signed in.

So OP your problem is this. The console license, which you need, belongs to your friend's 360. What you need to do is to take your whole console around to your friend's house and do a license transfer to make the console license belong to your 360. Find
out how to do it here

Then download the content again, as it is already on your console all that will be downloaded is the new license.

When you get home you will find you can use your DLC without an internet connection.

When you're asked to sign in do you ever get an error message or are you able to select your profile and sign-in? There are two things we would want to start with for this issue. First, let's have you clear your Xbox 360 console's cache with the

steps on this page and reset your network. To reset your network unplug your network hardware for 30 seconds while your console is powered off and then reconnect.

If that doesn't help, let's try a quick re-download of your profile by pressing the guide button (the Xbox button) and selecting download profile. From there, enter your account information which will re-download your profile.
