How do you choose to buy stuff with Microsoft credit

From which country are you currently located? What's your country's currency?

Your Store region and your payment method currency should match. Check your Microsoft credits currency on https://account.microsoft.com > Payment & billing > Payments. Be sure that it's enough for the price including the tax of the game you're trying to buy.

I love when they do this stuff, since its easy to get points with it and eventually buy microsoft credit, or subscriptions.

You can only split payment between your Microsoft account balance and a credit card/Paypal. To do so, you would choose to pay with your account balance first and it will then ask how you want to pay the rest and you would then choose your credit card/Paypal.

if you don't have a credit/debit card to pay a past due balance, you can pay it using a mobile/cell phone.
