How do you change the email associated with an Xbox 360 account?

I also have a similar problem. My profile is currently attached to my fathers email address. I want my profile to be attached to my email address instead. I have tried all of the steps to transfer the account but it just gives me an obscure error code that
tells me to wait 24 hours and try again.

My fathers email address is an @msn.com email address. Why is this happening???????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a simple process, really, that you can do right on Microsoft's website.You have to know basic information, like the email currently on your account, and possibly have access to the phone you put on the account. Steps to do that are here:

support.xbox.com/.../change-xbox-live-account-info

If you no longer have access to that account, you may have to fill out the Account Recovery Form. If that's the case, you will have to go here:

http://account.live.com/acsr

Technically transfers cannot be do but you can change the email address associated with a microsoft account.

In order to associate the gamertag with another account you will need to create a whole account with an email address and then do the following to associate the gamertag to that account. How

Please attempt to follow our how to change the email address associated with your Microsoft account
support article for information on how to switch the primary email for the account.

Doing this would allow you to remove the email, and then delete the account associated with that email.

Try this and let us know if this works.
