How do you change login id to an outlook.com email address

Hi there,

If you get that message then there likely already is an xbox live account present on that email address. Do you use that email address as account on a Windows Phone or Windows 8(.1) PC? Then an xbox live account could already be present based on the outlook
email address

Are you saying you want to change the email address that is your live ID?

no i want to either transfer the gamer tag to it or just change the login ID to the correct email address. the website says i can do it but im unable to create a new windows live id with the correct email address as always get message that there is a temp

Do you have email id and password for the account to which you are migrated now and where you did the typo? You can login to this account and then change your email address to new one. I would try to figure out what the email address was for that account, it sounds like you might be trying to login with the wrong email address. If you can figure out the correct email you can reset the password for that account and login and use that live
id or change the live id if you want. If you would like to change the live id see the steps below
