how do you buy a vga cable using the money already in my microsoft account?

I'm wondering how to do this as i dont play my xbox as much as i would like and this is because the tv is being used all the time and i would like to connect my xbox to a monitor screen.

Xbox360 and Sound systems - How do I make them work?

I just got an X360, but my PC monitor only has a VGA output, so I bought a component to VGA cable so that I can use that monitor with it.

I haven't gotten a hold of the cable, yet, but once I do, my monitor doesn't have speakers, so no sound will come out.

How do I get to hear the Xbox and game sounds if the component cable is already connected to it?

Can I use an USB headphone or something? How do I hook up my audio system to the xbox?

Do I need to buy another cable like "HDMI to component/audio jack in something something?

You could do that but remeber VGA doen't include sound. Xbox VGA cables have the sound jacks seperate so you can plug them into your speakers. I'd just use the xbox VGA cable myself, but if you already have an adapter then it will work just fine. I use VGA

Return the cable and pick up an Intec VGA cable. Intec's cable has an optical out.

Hello, you could use the composite cable (the yellow one) to connect your Xbox to your monitor. Your Xbox should have come with the required cable to do that. Of course, this will not give you any sound, just video. You could also buy the Xbox VGA cable
and use it with the monitor which probably has a VGA input (although you did not mention that in your post).

No, do not buy a new Xbox for HDMI capabilities. I've found that the difference in 720p quality of Component and HDMI to be null on a 720p display. I cannot comment on 1080p though. Most games are made native 720p anyway and upscaled to 1080p which leads
to many games actually looking the same or sometimes sharper on 720p displays than 1080p. Only a handful are native 1080p. Some are even less than 720p. If you have a 1920x1080 resolution screen though. You may want to invest in a VGA cable. I used to use
the VGA cable over component on my old TV and run at 1440x900. Now that I have a new 1080p monitor, I run at 1920x1080 over the VGA and it is no different than using HDMI at 1080p. I highly recomend getting a VGA cable if your TV has an input for it. A VGA
cable will run you anywhere from $10-$30 depending on where and what brand you buy.
