    How do you Block a device from streaming to xbox one?


    Once my wife found out she can stream to my xbox one from her phone in a different room, I now cant play a game without a random video from youtube being streamed to my screen "for funsies".

    As funny as it may seem..... when it happens when you're the driver of a Warthog, carrying a gunner and a flag carrier in enemy territory.. it doesn't make for good marital bliss. lol

    in short terms. how can I block certain devices from streaming to the xbox one?

    changing the modem channel

    xbox has suggested changing the modem channel to better connect and block out interference from other devices. how do you do this?

    Check that you allow streaming to all devices/Xboxes from Windows Media Player. I have seen cases where Windows treats the same Xbox as two different Xboxes depending on how it is connected to your network. It's possible you have streaming enabled to the
    Xbox when it is hard-wired to the network, but that you have a separate entry in Windows that is disabled when the Xbox is connected wirelessly.



    You should specifically check your list of allowed devices. Here's a link that can show you how to set this all up and enable/disable streaming from Windows 7.

    It sounds like you have your YouTube linked to your Xbox One, which allows you to sign in from another device and queue it on your Xbox One. If you sign out of YouTube from your wife's device, she shouldn't be able to stream to your Xbox One. If you have
    a shared YouTube account, you'll need to sign out of YouTube on your Xbox One.

    Have you been to media player settings on your PC and 'allowed' your xbox one?

    Open Windows media player. Click Stream and then click more streaming options from the drop down menu.

    Make sure your xbox one is allowed access.



    Another possibility is you have a PC firewall that is blocking access.

    I used to have problem streaming to devices when I used to use Norton firewall.

    Hey there, sc0ttw! I'm sorry to see any streaming issues. The ability to stream music from your PC has not been removed, so let's see if we can figure out what is going on.

    Most of the time, a firewall is what is blocking music files from being streamed. Has your antivirus on your computer recently updated and possibly caused the music to no longer be seen?

    If not, how are your PC and your Xbox One connected to the router in your house? Are they both wired, wireless, or is one wired and one wireless?

    Additionally, if you could post up what router you have, this will help us ensure there are no known issues with that device that could be blocking this for any reason.

    Get back to me with this, and we'll see if we can get to the bottom of this! :)

    Where are you streaming from pc or xbox?. There is programs on pc if you using a capture device to stream OBS Xspilt ect. Could you give more information on where you broadcasting from?. Also what type of xbox one model do you have?.
