    How do microsoft accounts actually work now and what is what and how do I move my 15 year...

    I had an xbox 360 profile way back when

    I moved it to another email

    I moved it to another email

    I stopped playing xbox

    I pretty much stopped using microsoft accounts and stuck with my gmail

    appartantly Gmail accounts can now be used for microsoft accounts...cool

    Microsoft is bullying me into moving my mojang account over to a microsoft account

    Cool lets do that

    the same gmail I use with mojang and EVERYTHING for the last 10 years can be used as a microsoft account... cool

    but it has some random gamer tag attached to it, I dont like that, lets link the one I used to use.

    2 hours later, tracking though something like 10 emails resetting all the passwords along the way because I haven't signed in in a life time and I eventually find it, here it is. fist bumps all round

    So and I'm going to shout HOW DO I ASSOCIATE THIS GAMER TAG WITH MY GMAIL ACCOUNT?

    apparantly I cant change the email to my gamil because thats already associated with another gamer tag.

    I cant unassociate the nonsense gtag from my gmail without deleteing it as a microsoft account and then I can never use that account again?

    What are aliases and how do they work?

    .......

    Basically all I want is my gmail and by extension the microsoft account it "controls" to be associated with this gamer tag and not another

    Is that even possible?

    Why do microsoft refuse to offer offical support for this sort of thing

    Hi Murder! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

    Microsoft accounts can only be associated to one gamertag forever, you would never be able to have a second gamertag on one email, or associate a different gamertag, since to unlink a gamertag it's necessary to delete the Microsoft account entirely, you can add a second email to one Gamertag as long as that email has never been linked to another gamertag

    Havok.....See this for a loooong time,don't remember when i saw it the first time but something like 15-20 years ago.

    Read somewhere that 600 games use it.

    Now,we have to wait to see what Microsoft will do with it and how they will use it.

    HERE     will show you instructions on how to achieve what you want. Essentially you will need to create a new microsoft account, move the unwanted gamertag off your 'desired' microsoft account and then move the 'desired' gamertag over to your (now free) 'desired'
    microsoft account.



    The guide should explain exactly how to do it.
