How Do I Use Keyboard & Mouse On Xbox One?

I heard that there is keyboard and mouse support available for the Xbox One now, which means I'm more motivated to play Halo on it now that I have the potential to use better controls. I just need a few things cleared up, however.

Does the Xbox One have an emulation software that binds keys to the equivalent on Xbox One controllers?

Is this plug & play with any keyboard, or do I need licenced hardware I can buy from the Microsoft store or retailers?

Is there mouse acceleration, or is it all raw mouse input?

Is there input delay?

Controller vs keyboard and mouse

When keyboard & mouse support comes to the xbox one you don't have to use it & if you use a controller you do not have to play against keyboard/mouse users & vice versa.

It will detect keyboard users & wont put them in with controller users unless you want to play against them.

Other than RTS games I would never use a keyboard/mouse on a console,in fact I use a controller on PC if I can.

Controllers all day long for me.

Hey jhmgrose,

Upto the current day there isnt Mouse and Keyboard Controls available for Xbox One in games.

You can plug nearly any wired Keyboard into the Console via USB to use it for Messages, but not in games. Mouse Support isnt currently a thing on the Console in all areas.

Any use of uncertified 3rd party adapter that might exists to allow those features in game would be a break against the ToS / CoC.

Xbox One, not all game and app supports mouse and keyboard. For some games and app, the mouse and keyboard support feature need to enabled before you can use it. It's recommended you consult the game or app publisher if you're not sure about this.

2. Almost every USB keyboard work with Xbox One. It depends on the game or the app you'll play on Xbox One. To use a USB keyboard or mouse on Xbox One, you'll need an input adapter. See

Currently there is keyboard and mouse support, but its up to developers of those games to add the option to allow it. Warface is not one of them that allows keyboard and mouse support yet. I can see that it is an upcoming title for keyboard and mouse support
